1300 Dell Inspiron Review

The 1300 Dell inspiron model is targeted as budget oriented customers. But then depending on the way you configure it it may come out as a mainstream notebook capable of handling your hOme and business needs.

The body of 1300 Inspiron model is made up of sturdy plastic. The use of plastic keeps the costs low for the end user. It's already been said that the construction is made keeping the budget conscious customer in mind. The body however is a whole lot improvement on the previous model Dell Inspiron 1000, where flimsiness was a major problem.

The keyboard is firm and you will not find any major flexing issues. The keys are full sized and there is not much sagging of the keyboard. When pressed the keys do not make much noise. The hinges are good for a budget laptop. YOu will hardly find any wobble while moving the laptop around.

If you want good in built speakers then I am afraid you will be dissapointed with 1300 Dell Inspiron. The audio quality is not impressive. But then going by the fact that the laptop is not aimed at high end gaming or multimedia usage the sound limitation is justifiable. YOu may compensate this drawback by using external audio systems.

The processor options include Pentium M and Celeron M. Going with Celeron M will save you some money as compared to Pentium M. In my opinion there isn't be much to sacrifice in terms of performance. The Dell Inspiron 1300 model is amazingly less noisy. It has the heat vents towards the rear and is not that bad when it comes to heating aspects.

You have options of configuring your 1300 Dell Inspiron with a 4 cell battery or a 6 cell battery. Frankly speaking it depends on your requirements. If you are going to be mobile frequently then its preferable that you go for a 6 cell battery. That will cost you more than a 4 cell battery. However you will be sticking to your workplace desk at office or home then you may be comfortable configuring the laptop with a 4 cell battery. Under full utilization the 4 cell battery may run out of charge in round about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

You will find the 1300 Dell Inspiron model equipped with all the basic input and output ports. There are 3 USB 2.0 ports all on left side. VGA/monitor out, Modem, RJ-45 Ethernet, RJ-11 Modem port are all found on the left side. For speakers, headphones you will find Audio line-out on the left side. There is a provision for External microphone port on the left side. The laptop comes with an expressCard 34 expansion slot on the left and a Power jack on the back side.
