Lenovo T60
Lenovo T60 has been buzzed about for some time now. This is an interesing piece from Lenovo.
Most Workaholics, who pride themselves in multi-tasking, will find a lot to appreciate and go into raptures over with the new T60.
Many computer fanatics, including myself, won’t hesitate to utter how much love they had with the previous versions of ThinkPad Lenovo(former IBM). With the T60, great appreciation will be an understatement.
Lenovo T60 is an outstanding version of “T” series with a robust built. It comes in a customary black, which may dishearten those who were looking forward for a titanium coat. Mostly, the design doesn't swerve from that of its forerunner, the ThinkPad T43. The only slight differences are the EV-DO transmitter overhanging from the right side of the screen and the base, which is now enclosed with magnesium alloy which make the T60 a very durable notebook.
It stands out among notebooks when it comes to hardiness via choices of components, strong shielding chassis and a very well-built casing. Fundamentally indistinguishable as the previous T-series notebooks did. T60 uses rugged plastic for body that does not flex even when in extreme heat; lid with reinforced magnesium provides outstanding protection for the screen. Keyboard keys seem very independent because of the sturdy platform and inflexible keyboard base.
Metal hinges attached to the bottom of the screen are very rigid which ensures the screen not to wobble. The keyboard also has a spill proof feature, putting two holes to ensure that if you do happen to spill your coffee, the liquid is directed away from the sensitive components and out through the bottom end of the notebook.
If you’re not impressed yet, get a hold of this; hard drive is fully shock mounted and the whole chassis is innovatively magnesium designed “roll cage”. Even if it is dropped and broken, the system has an APS (Active Protection System) enabling it to automatically stop the hard drive activity and prevents loss of any data.
The new Lenovo T60 also has a widescreen version not only features 15.4 inches of screen room, but is also light enough to give even the infamous Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch a run for your money.
Three USB 2.0 ports are now built in the T60 contrast to the previous T43 which only had two ports. T60 still has no memory card reader or a FireWire port, but considering this machine is business focused, it is understandable. Speakers are located at the bottom front side, with exceptionally good quality of audio output. But like any other notebooks and laptops, sounds tend to deteriorate when loudness is amplified.
The Lenovo T60 is built with a Core Duo Processor, 2ghz with 1GB(configurable up to 4GB)of RAM, an ATI X1400, 128MB graphics card and 100GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive.
To put things bluntly, this machine is built for multi-tasking.
Lag problems hardly is a problem with T60 at all. I personally established the capabilities of T60 first hand, get this; virus scan running at background, burning a media DVD and all the while playing Warcraft-Frozen Throne, not only that, with the 9-cell extended battery life, I did all this with the power unplugged. This lasted for at least 3 hrs(up to 4hrs when not multi-tasking).
Not many business notebooks can definitely perform the way this machine does.
If you want a business laptop that’ll be well worth all your money and efforts, then Lenovo T60 can very much satiate your cravings.
